In the world of pickups the Motor Trend Truck of the Year prize is coveted by all brands. This year two of the vehicles we have here in the new Ram inventory at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Eugene were named finalists.
For the 2014 title, which will be decided on Wednesday December 4th, the Ram Heavy Duty and 1500 EcoDiesel have been included in the pool of contenders. Both of these trucks are perfect models to represent the overall image and abilities of the pickups we have here to offer the entire Eugene, Oregon region.
The EcoDiesel model takes the standard 2014 1500 and adds a powerful 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine, resulting in 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Astonishing fuel efficiency meets a max tow rating of 9200 pounds, and the truck is also available in the standard Tradesman trim or Laramie Limited trim.
The Ram Heavy Duty has new underpinnings with this year's model, and adds a 6.4-liter gas-powered V8 engine, providing 410 horsepower. The 2014 2500 has available gooseneck/fifth wheel options, and the HD model of this and the 3500 includes a five-link coil suspension. Setting the Heavy Duty apart from the pack is the available 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel I-6 engine, which delivers a massive 850 lb-ft of torque to the truck.
Both of these rugged and reliable trucks, as well as all the models that stem from them, are serious contenders this year for the 2014 Truck of the Year Title.
